The Nelson Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is located at Tahunanui Recreation Ground. The TRYathlon will begin with the swim leg on Tahunanui Beach in the ocean parallel to the beach. TRYathletes are generally able to stand-up during the short swim, however we do encourage everyone to give swimming a go! The Transition area is located on the recreation fields. The bike leg is around the streets surrounding Tahunanui Recreation Ground, and the run leg is around Tahunanui Recreation Ground itself. You can download our course map from the Event Day Info tab to see the full routes. The best areas for parking will be announced in our event information emails to registered participants and on our Facebook page closer to the event date.

Nelson Basketball Fun Day

With Primary teachers striking on Thursday the 15^th November, Nelson Basketball wanted to provide a childcare alternative for parents. We will be running a skills/ fun day for children years 4 – 6, with skills, drills, fun games and other activities to keep them busy throughout the day.

Participants will be required to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to run around in and bring a water bottle, lunch and snacks similar to a day at school. We will also have fruit on hand to snack on.

This day will be head coached by Coachforce officer Sam Dempster with help from some of our local young coaches.

We will run the Nelson Basketball fun day from 9am – 3pm at Jack Robins Stadium in Stoke. The cost for this day will be $30 per person, payment can be made in cash on the day or made by internet transfer (please reference your child’s name and Skills day) into the following bank account:          NBS 03 1354 0239726 00

Level One Girls session one & session two are separate competitions. Medals will be awarded to first, second and third for individuals and teams in each session. Results will be emailed to schools at the beginning of the next week after the competition.
Clothing should be suitable for physical exercise such as shorts and T-shirt or leotards and hair must be tied up. No zips, buckles or domes on clothing and no jewellery, shoes or socks are allowed in the gym There is no parking in Nelson Intermediate’s staff car park. Please park on Tukuka, Tipahi or Vanguard Streets and on enter school grounds on foot.
