Athletics Sports Day - 2017

Date:               Wednesday 8th November  

Programme:
9.05am  -         Y3/6 Assemble in teams         
9.30am  -         Start Athletics Programme     
10.30am -        Morning tea break
10.50am -        Assemble at next rotation
11.00am -        Restart – 4 rotations
12.00 -             Relays – Interhouse/staff/parents
12.30pm          Dismissed for lunch


1.30pm            Sprints begin with 7 yrs first
Race 1                   Yr 3/4 Girls
Race 2                   Yr 3/4 Boys
Race 3                   Yr 5/6 Girls
Race 4                   Yr 5/6 Boys
Race 5                   Winning Yr 5/6 boys and girls v staff/parents

Regional Cross Country 2017

Congratulations to the 41 children who went to Inter school Cross Country on Wednesday 7th June. All the children ran well with 13 of those placing in the top 15 for their age category.


Regional Cross Country will take place on Friday 30th June at Rabbit Island. Children who have been selected for this event will have already received permission slips.

Interschool Cross Country

This event is open to the top 8 runners in 8 year old, 9, 10, 11 year old competitive races ran on Wednesday 24th May.
All eligible runners should have now received a permission slip.

GUIDELINES   FOR   PARTICIPATION
Thank you all for being a member of a Nayland Primary School sports team.
You will enjoy playing sport and being a member of your team.
We have willing parents prepared to give up time to coach / train you weekly and attend games.  We must remember to thank them for doing this.
You are representatives of Nayland Primary, which you need to take seriously:
·        Playing on behalf of the school.
·        The school reputation is resting on your shoulders.
·        You are playing in the public eye.
Being a Nayland team member carries certain responsibilities:
·        To turn up for training sessions each week + games, and do what your coaches ask of you, positively and enthusiastically.
·        To be punctual when turning up for games / practices at least 15 mins before game time.
·        To play hard but fairly.
·        To be positive and enjoy yourself when playing.
·        To be positive and supportive towards your team mates.
·        To comply with the rulings of the referee / umpire without complaint.
·        To obey the requests of your coaches / managers.
·        To listen carefully and speak to others appropriately and respectfully.
·        To be smartly turned out – with the necessary gear and school uniform.
·        To treat school sports property with care and respect.
·        To share and celebrate your successes, and be supportive towards each other at all times.
Parents
·        Please help set a good example to our students by being positive side line support.
·        Please support our coaches who have given up their time to coach your child
